Wedding Photography During COVID-19

As various states and cities begin to reopen and allow small gatherings, brides and grooms are rushing to get their engagement photos, wedding photography, and reception pictures taken before it’s too late. Lots of phone calls and rescheduled dates are quickly taking place. Many have had their plans changed due to the COVID-19 health and safety rules that different photography venues had to adopt in order to keep business running. Here is one venue with safety standards that won’t hinder your beautiful wedding or engagement photography.

Longwood Gardens

Every venue has adopted considerable health and safety practices for their employees and guests, and Longwood Gardens hasn’t skimped on their COVID-19 regulations. Like most organizations, their capacity has been limited and the easiest way to accomplish this is to make guests register and receive a timed ticket. This isn’t any different than a bride or groom having to make an appointment for pictures. It’s just a scheduled time in which you are allowed to enter the premises. It makes social distancing easier when you have a limited amount of people.

When you arrive, make sure that you park away from other cars and wear your face mask until it’s time to take your pictures. Carpe Diem Design Studio’s team will always wear our masks. We also sanitize each piece of equipment before and after use. We will keep our distance unless we absolutely think it’s necessary to get closer than 6 ft. We are strict on our COVID-19 guidelines to ensure your safety and ours.

We have a passion to make our customers happy and if that means rescheduling our photoshoot, we are happy and flexible to do so. We enjoyed this photoshoot at Longwood Gardens during COVID-19. We believe that Longwood Gardens has some great advice for staying safe during COVID-19 wedding and engagement photoshoots that you can apply to other venues.

  1. Don’t bring oversized props - Oversized props will get in the way of others walking around your photoshoot. Since you do not have exclusive rights to any area, guests may be near your photoshoot space.

  2. Stick to one outfit - Public bathrooms can already be a dirty place to change clothing, but during this time, it’s better to be safe than to have multiple outfits. Most public bathrooms are already closed, and if they aren’t they are most likely limited.

  3. Wear Your Mask - This slows the spread of COVID-19 between guests and employees

  4. Park away from other cars - This will limit interaction and accidental touching of other people’s cars and property.
